Dishonored achievements: stealth, no-kill and power restrictions

Dishonored achievements: stealth, no-kill and power restrictions

Stealth and nonlethal runs have different requirements. In Dishonored, Shadow requires finishing the missions after the prologue without alerting anyone. Clean Hands requires completing the game without killing anyone. Meeting one condition does not establish that the other condition has been met.

No-kill requirements belong to a particular campaign

Cleaner Hands names The Knife of Dunwall. Cleanest Hands names The Brigmore Witches. Neither is a substitute for the main game's Clean Hands requirement. Compare Dishonored's no-kill requirements when deciding which campaign to play.

One mission is different from a whole game

Dishonored 2's Ghostly asks for an entire mission without being spotted. Its Shadow requires finishing the game without being spotted. A mission that earns Ghostly does not establish a completed Shadow run.

Alternative Approach requires a mission with no casualties. Compare that with Clean Hands, which applies to completing the game. The wording identifies the scope of the restriction; it is not a record of your current run.

Death of the Outsider's Agent of Mercy concerns a mission without killing anyone, while its Shadow concerns finishing the game undetected. Follow the requirement attached to the selected game, even when another game uses the same achievement name.

Check the power restriction before spending runes

Mostly Flesh and Steel restricts purchases of supernatural powers and enhancements in Dishonored, with its stated exception for Blink. Dishonored 2's Flesh and Steel instead requires completing the game without supernatural powers.

See which of these you still need

Sign in with Steam from the achievements list to read your own progress instead of ticking boxes. The page asks Steam for the achievements you have unlocked in Dishonored, Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider, with the date of each. Every game shows how many you have unlocked, a locked achievement keeps a grey icon, and an achievement's own page says when you unlocked it or that you have not yet.

The Remaining filter hides what you have unlocked, so only the requirements still open stay in the list. It also opens as a link: remaining achievements.

If your Steam game details are private, the list shows no progress. Make them public in Steam and the list can read them. A sign-in through another provider is not a Steam account, so the list offers the Steam sign-in instead. When Steam cannot be read right now, the list says so and offers Try again. The archive keeps your latest reads, so a later visit can also say how many achievements you unlocked since the read before it.
