— Escape and stay out of sight until the enemies give up searching for you
— Use powers, gadgets, and trickery to creatively overcome the situation

Play Your Way #2

The Wall of Light is a dangerous security system from the age of the Rat Plague. Those not attuned are burned to ashes upon passing through. This Wall of Light is powered by a Windmill, but others are fueled by removable whale oil tanks.

You can bypass this Wall of Light in a variety of ways:

- Shut down the windmill to disable the Wall of Light
- Explore nearby apartments to find an alternate path
- Brave the bloodfly-infested building back toward the dockyard
- Possess a rat and find small passage
- Climb through the window above the Wall of Light

Enemies are slower to detect you in Stealth Mode, especially when you are:

- Farther away from them
- Above them, or at the edge of their peripheral vision
- In shadow (though this matters more at a distance)

Stealth Mode enables you to take cover under desks or tables.

To lure enemies away, distract them by throwing an object such as a bottle, or setting the alarm on a clock.

Stun Mine

Attach a Stun Mine to any surface by aiming at the desired location and pressingUse Power/Weapon. Stun Mines deliver an electrical shock that renders the first target to come into range unconscious.

Blink

PressUse Power/Weaponto move forward rapidly.
Blink allows you to move very fast without being seen, making it useful for stealth since you can Blink from one hiding spot to another, or even rooftop to rooftop if you combine the power with jump.
Blink can effectively be chained together with assassination or choke if used to approach unaware enemies. You can also Blink through glass, breaking it, or Blink upward for limited distances. Note that the cursor changes when aimed at a climbable surface or ledge.
The mana cost for using the power is low, so the recharging portion of the mana bar will allow you to Blink even when you have no elixirs.

Upgrading this power changes some of its basic functionality.

Bonecharm Crafting

Crafting Bonecharms with more Traits increases the chance of corruption, sometimes creating Bonecharms with negative Traits.

Bonecharms

Bonecharms provide supernatural benefits (Traits), upgrading your prowess or powers, or even adding entirely new abilities.
